Where the hell am I? :: stuff - watches - Armitron Pilot

Mandy and I were out shopping at a local mall earlier this week. As is the norm, she heads off to one of her stores, and I walk around to any store that carries watches and browse. Most of the stuff is the typical mall type of stuff: lots of "fashion watches" like Fossil, Armitron, DNKY, and the usual Seiko and Citizen stuff. But, I look anyway (I think a lot of us do!) because you just never know.

This time, to my surprise, I found in one of those fashion watch cases this Armitron Day Date. The classic pilot-style look caught my eye before I even knew the brand of the watch. When I saw that it was an Armitron I was quite surprised - I had at first thought I was looking at perhaps a Hamilton.

But, whatever the make was, I realized the instant that *the look* of the watch, and not the name brand, caught my eye I had to buy it. So, $26.24 USD later I was the happy owner of this Armitron pilot-style day-date. It's 42mm without the crown and the hands and numerals lume, to my amazement. When I was looking at it more closely I did not think it had any lume at all, turns out, it's not bad! The day doesn't line up quite right, but at less than $30 I can't complain that much.
