Where the hell am I? :: stuff - watches -
Seiko 6117-6410 Navigator Timer
The watch that would not arrive...
I ordered this on October 5th, 2004 from a gent in
Singapore. Normally I've had about 6 - 8 days for packages from
Singapore to arrive. I realized it was getting late in the
month and I had not seen hide nor hair of the watch. Odd... So
I emailed the seller who checked his tracking number only to
come back and tell me that delivery was attempted on the 16th of
October. What! That was a week ago! The address I gave, as it
turned out, was my old address in Spokane, from two years ago,
which was apparently still in my Paypal account. My current
address starts with 722 - the old address with 708, so I sent
the wrong "7" address.
The next day I rushed to the post office to see if I could
pick it up, since they normally hold packages for two weeks.
When I get there I am told that they sent it back to Singapore -
what! Why? Seems my mail carrier remembered the forwarding and
that it had long expired, so he popped it back in the post - the
day before. Missed it by one day!
So while the watch took just about 8 days to get here, it
took almost three weeks to get back to Singapore. The watch
finally arrive two months after I paid for it. But, given that,
ti was well worth the wait. Except for some light scratches on
the crystal the watch is in great shape for being over 30 years
old.
