Where the hell am I? :: stuff - watches - Seiko Alpinist Perpetual Calendar

I am a sucker for cool Seikos. Not sure what it is, but I love these watches. I don't know of another manufacture that puts out as many designs and variations as Seiko does. This one had been on my radar for some time, but I opted to get the automatic version of the watch first. When I had the funds together again I began kicking around this one, the ideal of the luminous dial was intriguing to say the least. Plus I enjoy the GMT complication and the perpetual calendar. The only downside I could see was that it was not a kinetic, but a straight battery driven quartz. Even though I had not paid that much for a non-Eco/kinetic quartz watch (ever) I still decided to go for it. Which at first, I regretted.

When the watch arrived I opened it and was expecting that usual spark, that usual first impression of "Wow!' but this time, it did not happen. It was more of a, "Well, it's nice." than anything else. But, I did not return the watch, but sized, it and wore it around some.

About three weeks after I bough it I pulled it out of the box to wear it for the evening and - Spark! - there it was. I just about spent the whole night starring at the dial of this one. Wow! I love it. Delayed fireworks this time around.

SOLD - not because I did not like it, but because I needed the cash.
