Where the hell am I? :: stuff - watches - Seiko SKX779K "Black Monster"

Ah, the Black Monster. I had one hell of a time getting one of these. I had decided I wanted one from seeing the pictures and reading about it at the "Poor Man's" Watch Forum, getting one proved trickier than I thought it would be.

There were a few selling on eBay - the first one I should have had, if I had been paying attention I would have gotten it, but I was out bid with only seconds left. So I tried on another - out bid. And a third time. So, I ended up buying it with the "Buy It Now" feature and still got it for a reasonable price.

It is a great watch, and my first one that is really classified as a divers watch (yea, the Timex is as well, but I don't know how much I'd trust it with that Indiglo button). I found a nice black leather strap for it and swapped out the bracelet. Fantastic watch for the money. Now I just need it's cousin, the Orange Monster!
