Where the hell am I? :: stuff - watches - Wenger GST Sea

At this time (November 22, 2003) this has been my most expensive watch purchase to date. I had seen this killer-chrono on the PMWF several times since I found the site back in February of 2003, and really liked it each time. When I decided to clean house a bit and sell of some stuff, I knew already what I would be buying, a watch of course, but I had to decided which one. Once I did some looking around I realized that this long-time favorite of mine was getting more scarce on eBay and was going for higher and higher prices ($700 and up range). So when I found one that looked like it was going to say close to $400 I jumped on it. Good thing I did.

The thing that gets me about this watch is the crystal - when I first opened the packaging I thought, Holy Christ, he sent me one sans crystal. I thought I was going to be able to reach in and touch the hands. Not so, of course, it just has the least reflective crystal I've seen.

The Valjioux movement (described by Coachjdc on the PMWF) sounds like a box of rocks. It can be loud, especially if the rotor gets spinning in the non-winding direction. But I don't care. It's a cool sound, in my opinion.

Next step is to get it on a band, which I have, I just need to get some smaller screwdrivers to get it off.
